Ten Years of TYCL

LOCAL ACTION GLOBAL CHANGE

Trust for Youth and Child Leadership (TYCL), India, turns 10 on March 8th, 2021! We are celebrating 10 years of Local Action for Global Change. In the last ten years, TYCL has reached half a million young people and their communities to prevent youth suicide and promote their rights to achieve safe, inclusive, and participatory spaces for young people.

Young people have high potentials with innovative skills and creativity. However, access and opportunities are not available for all young people equally. Youth in vulnerable communities continue to face constant mental health challenges due to a lack of access to opportunities and resources. Often, these young people end up in self-harmful and violent circumstances. They lack safe spaces to express their feelings and navigate towards better choices to explore their fullest potential.

TYCL creates safe, inclusive, and participatory spaces for and with young people. The TYLC Youth Resource Center serves to support equal access and opportunities for young people to explore their inner potentials and dreams. TYCL offers the following programs: hotline for youth in crisis, mobile mental health clinics, mentorship, Ecosystem-Based Leadership training, holistic self-defense training for girls, child abuse prevention workshops, and Child Leader and Changemaker awards.

In the last ten years, TYCL reached half a million young people. In the next ten years, TYCL will reach two million more youth to expand equal access and opportunities. By the year 2030, TYCL aims to achieve Zero Youth Suicide, Zero Violence Against Children, and Zero Anti-Environmental Behavior Among Young People. Young people from vulnerable communities will become positive role models in their families and communities by enacting their Ecosystem-Based leadership in every choice they make.

Donate to support youth-led community action to promote positive mental health, gender justful families, and pro-environmental behavior among youth.
